3D simplification of a gown by M & A Shogren
The publication presents step-by-step optimisation of a 3D model of a gown by M & A Shogren belonged to Mrs. C.W. Moore (courtesy of the Idaho State Historical Society, Museum, inv. no. 2009.079.0158). The simplification (Meshlab software) employed the quadric-based edge collapse algorithm by Garland and Heckbert (1997). TPC stands for the number of triamgles per cm2. The authors are Victor Kuzmichev, Irina Zhukova, (Ivanovo State Polytechnic University), Aleksei Moskvin https://sketchfab.com/alekseimoskvin1 and Mariia Moskvina https://sketchfab.com/mariia89 (Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design). This study was supported by the Russian Science Foundation under Project № 24-29-00268 The authors are grateful to Nicole Inghilterra (Idaho State Historical Society, Museum) for providing them with detailed information about the scan of Mrs. C.W. Moore’s dress, as well as to the Idaho Virtualization Laboratory for the work they done to produce the 3D model.
